Mount Vernon man guilty of attempted assault with baseball bat

WHITE PLAINS – A Westchester County Court jury found a Mount Vernon man guilty of attempting to assault two men with a bat last October.

The jury convicted Robert Johnson, 33, of two counts of attempted assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies.

Johnson attacked two men with a bat on October 6, 2018 at around 5:30 p.m. The entire attack was captured on surveillance video.

He has two prior felony convictions and is expected to be sentenced on the latest conviction in October.
