PEARL RIVER – A Blauvelt woman was arrested Sunday evening on charges of felony vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated following a three-car crash on Veterans Memorial drive in Pearl River.

All three cars sustained heavy damage and two were engulfed in flames in the crash that occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Occupants of all the vehicles escaped with the assistance of passing motorists.

One of the drivers, Tiffany O’Connor, 34, of Blauvelt, was determined to be intoxicated. She refused a chemical breath test, was charged by Orangetown Police and released on bail pending a future court appearance.

The occupant and passenger in a second vehicle were transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the third vehicle were medically cleared at the scene.

The Perl River Fire Department extinguished the fires.
