NEWBURGH – It has only been a few short months, but the City of Newburgh is about to reach a milestone in the issuance of municipal ID cards.

City Manager Joseph Donat said the numbers keep growing as residents sign up at City Hall on a regular basis.

“This past month we issued slightly over 200 municipal IDs bringing our total just shy of 1,000,” Donat said. “I can anticipate and predict that we will issue 1,000 IDs before the end of September, which will be a milestone in and of itself.”

IDs are still available to city residents Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city clerk’s office.
