WHITE PLAINS – A former cook at the women’s Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, was sentenced on Tuesday to “shock probation” where he will serve four months in jail followed by 10 years of probation and will have to register as a sex offender.
Garth Trail, 62, pled guilty last November to engaging in a sexual act with an inmate while working at the prison.
On May 1, 2018, State Police arrested Trail for engaging in a sexual act with an inmate on September 27, 2017 in the kitchen area of the prison. His arrest was the result of an investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, state corrections department, and State Police.
