State awards close to $1 million for area county emergency services dispatching

ALBANY – Just under $1 million in state funding has been approved for 911 response and emergency service dispatching operations in the Hudson Valley/Catskills.

County operators of public safety answering points can use the funding in a number of ways, including operating expenses, upgrades to dispatching technology, and investment in services, such as texting, data communications and geo-location.
