WHITE PLAINS – Mount Vernon resident Lloyd Scott pled guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit to manslaughter in the death of his toddler son at their East Lincoln Avenue home in April 2018.

Scott was promised a sentence of 21 years in prison with five years of post-release supervision when sentenced in December.

On April 16, 2018, Scott was alone with his two-year-old son while the child’s mother was at work. During that time, he beat the tot, put him in bed, and when the mother got home from work told her the child was sleeping. When the mother checked on her son, he was not breathing and was covered in bruises all over his face and torso.

Scott drove the mother and child to the area near Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, but when the mother ran into the emergency room with the child in her arms, Scott fled the car.

The child was pronounced dead a short time later. An autopsy confirm he had suffered blunt force trauma to the body including lacerations to his liver, pancreas and intestines.
