POUGHKEEPSIE (August 28) – Rebuilding Together Dutchess County is accepting applications for their home repair and accessibility modification programs. Rebuilding Together is a 501c3 nonprofit that receives funding, in part, from federal and local grants, community support and donated volunteer labor and supplies. There is never a cost to eligible homeowners. These services are provided to qualified homeowners and focus on ensuring that individuals can live independently in safe, warm, dry and healthy homes.

The deadline for applications to be considered for the 2020 Rebuilding Day program is September 30, 2019. Income qualified Dutchess County homeowners, especially seniors, persons living with a disability, military veterans or parents with school aged children are encouraged to apply.

A Wappingers Falls neighbor, recently served by Rebuilding Together, said “don’t be scared or nervous about applying for these services, [the Rebuilding Together staff] take you step by step through the entire process.” This past spring, another homeowner cheered others on, “Go for it! Don’t hesitate,” she said, “the staff you work with are very caring and considerate of your feelings and your situation.”
