Saugerties man charged with providing alcohol to minors, possession of coke

SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail on charges that he provided alcohol to a number of minors and was in possession of cocaine.

Saugerties Police responded to a welfare check of an unknown situation at 524 Blue Mountain Road in the town at 3 a.m. on Friday, August 23. When they got there, Mitchell Kane, 29, who was intoxicated and attempted to flee. Police questioned him and determined he had made the welfare check phone call. At the residence, police found a number of underage intoxicated people with alcohol provided by Kane.

Officers also found Kane in possession of cocaine.
