RHINEBECK – Discussion surrounding issues and policies affecting the agriculture and agri-business sectors highlighted the fifth annual agricultural forum held Thursday at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.

The discussion, led by County Executive Marcus Molinaro and Legislature Chairman Gregg Pulver, also centered on Molinaro’s signing of the county’s right-to-farm law, which allows farmers to use the agricultural practices necessary to run their business free from undue restrictions and interference.

“Dutchess County’s agricultural industry remains vital to our way of life, providing much of the food we eat – the market value of products in the county is almost $44 million annually,” said Molinaro. “Farmers’ hard-working nature is unparalleled, and that sense of determination is shared by those who continue to make agriculture thrive in Dutchess County today.”

He said the county is “ardent in its resolve to ensure farming endures for generations and remains vibrant.”
