Rescuers retrieved the injured man

ACCORD – A hiker, who fell down a 60-foot ravine in Minnewaska State Park on Sunday afternoon, was rescued by area firefighters.

The man fell down the steep incline near Hamilton Point Trail while hiking with family and may have lost his footing while taking photographs.

He was rescued by emergency medical personnel and a Kingston rope team and transported to an area hospital by Hatzolah EMS with a possible broken thighbone, according to first responders.
