Taxi driver robbed in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – City Police have released details about the robbery of a cabbie in Poughkeepsie just before 12:30 a.m. on Friday.

The female driver was waiting in her cab for a fare on Grant Street when she was approached by a young, slim black man, who was armed with what appeared to be a kitchen knife.

He demanded money and made off with approximately $100 in cash.

The suspect was described as about five-feet, eight-inches to six feet tall, and was wearing a red shirt, and had having close cut hair.

He was riding a bike.

There were no injuries reported.
