YONKERS – The Yonkers City Police Department is investigating the death of a New York City Police officer whose body was found on Shoreview Drive.
Local officers said the NYPD officer was dead with no indications of foul play and the manner of death appearing to be self-inflicted in an apparent suicide. If confirmed as a suicide, it would be the eighth this year for an NYPD officer.
Yonkers detectives are continuing the investigation in collaboration with the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Yonkers Police did not release the identity of the NYPD officer.
