WEST POINT – Just under 1,200 cadets in the class of 2023 at the US Military Academy concluded their six-week basic training known as Beast Barracks with the traditional 12-mile walk back to the campus on Monday.
The street in front of the superintendent’s residence was lined with family and friends waving signs and welcoming the new cadets back after the grueling training program at Camp Buckner.
The new cadets will be formally accepted into the Corps of Cadets during a ceremony on Saturday.
