NEW CITY – A Spring Valley man was convicted by a Rockland County Court jury on four counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument as felonies.

Nicos Dinkins, 37, was charged in connection with the possession of a fraudulent New York State driver’s license featuring his photo but with the name “William Cooper.” Dinkins was also found in possession of three credit cards in the name of “William Cooper.”

Dinkins was arrested following a brief foot chase in Spring Valley after police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle.

Because of several prior convictions, Dinkins faces up to seven years in state prison when sentenced in November.
