Six injured in Newburgh fire

NEWBURGH – Flames lit up the predawn skies over the City of Newburgh Wednesday morning as fire raged through the upper floor of a two-story residence at 436 First Street. The two-alarm fire brought out firefighters from area departments under mutual aid.

Six people were evacuated from the house, some with serious injuries, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
