KINGSTON – The Ulster County Veteran Services Agency will hold a “Veterans Stand-Down” event on Friday, August 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex in Saugerties.
The annual event is exclusively for area veterans and their families providing them with an opportunity to connect with services and obtain veteran-related assistance. Over 30 service providers will be on hand to provide vets with information about services and benefits, with a focus on homeless veteran intervention and prevention.
Federal, state and county agencies will also be on hand to assist vets and their families concerning benefits and accredited service officer topics.
Veterans in need of transportation may call the county agency at 845-340-3190 to make arrangements.
