Trees, power lines downed when storm runs through Sullivan County

MONTICELLO – Violent storms rolled through parts of Sullivan County Tuesday evening knocking down trees and bringing town power lines.

Fire departments and public works crews were out clearing trees from roadways.

New York State Electric and Gas reported that at 9:53 p.m. 224 customers were without power. In the Town of Callicoon, six customers were in the dark; in the Town of Cochecton there was one customer outage. The Town of Delaware was the hardest hit with 217 customers without power.

By 3 a.m. Wednesday, just four customers in the Town of Delaware were without power.

NYSEG serves 46,041 customers in Sullivan County.
