Unconscious toddler rescued from pool

BETHEL – A two-year-old child pulled unconscious from a swimming pool at a home at 75 Doctor Duggan Road in the Town of Bethel on Sunday, July 21, was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center when he was in stable condition as of Tuesday.

At 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony DosSantos responded and found that residents had just pulled the child out of the swimming pool. He was unconscious but breathing.

The White Lake Fire Department responded and met the ambulance at the White Lake firehouse. The boy was transported in the sheriff’s patrol car and turned over to Mobile Medic.

The child was subsequently taken to a landing zone in Mongaup Valley where he was put into the helicopter.
