HYDE PARK – The owner of Paula’s Public House in Poughkeepsie announced her candidacy for the Dutchess County Legislature in Hyde Park District Four.
Paula Young-Borra has the endorsement of the Independence, Republican and Conservative parties for the November election. “I am an independent voice for independent voters,” she said.
The seat is currently held by Democrat Minority Leader Hannah Black.
Young-Borra, who also owns Paula’s Wine Bar in Fishkill, said she is running because “It’s about public service and not about power… to help make smart decisions for our community, and to focus on the things that folks in Hyde Park really care about, and really need.”
