Hudson Valley unemployment rates continue to decline

ALBANY – Unemployment in all Hudson Valley counties continued to fall in June compared to June 2018. Regionwide, unemployment in June was at 3.3 percent.

Columbia County, at 2.8 percent (3.2 percent in June 2018), had the lowest rate in New York.

Sullivan County, with 3.1 percent (3.9 percent in June 2018) unemployment, was ranked second in the region and fourth in the state.

Putnam County and Rockland County (both at 3.8 percent in June 2018) had 3.2 percent rates of joblessness this June.

Dutchess County (3.8 percent in June 2018) and Ulster County (3.9 percent in June 2018) both had 3.3 percent rates of unemployment this June.

Westchester County (3.9 percent in June 2018) registered a 3.4 percent rate in June 2019 while Orange County, (4.0 percent in June 2018) also dropped to 3.4 percent.

Greene County (4.2 percent in June 2018) had 3.6 percent unemployment this June.
