Three arrested in connection with violent Ellenville attack

ELLENVILLE – Three men are under arrest following an investigation into a violent assault and robbery that occurred in Ellenville on July 9.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, reportedly was walking down Park Street and turned onto Warren Street where he was approached by two men, was punched, fell to the ground and was attacked by several other men, one of whom was armed with a billy club, and was repeatedly struck on the head and body.

The assailants stole property from the victim as he lay on the ground injured, and then fled on foot.

The victim was transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

On Wednesday, July 17, Ellenville Police, with the assistance of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, URGENT and the district attorney’s office, arrested three suspects and executed a search warrant at 23 Church Street.

Alexander Padilla, 32, also known as “AP,” of Monticello, a member of the Sucka Free M.C., was charged with armed robbery and gang assault as well as on a bench warrant for failure to appear on a harassment and public lewdness charge. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond.

Simeon Walker, 18, also known as “Drop,” of Market Street in Ellenville, formerly of Kingston, was charged with robbery and gang assault. His bail was set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.

Jermaine Miller, 17, also known as “Maine,” of 180 Center Street in Ellenville, formerly of the City of Rochester, was charged with robbery and gang assault and jailed in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing. Police say additional arrests are expected.
