POUGHKEEPSIE – Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Eat Smart New York Hudson Valley Regional Program is continuing its summer program of providing free meals to children in Poughkeepsie during the summer.

Last year 52,000 meals were served at over 10 sites in the city, including public parks at Spratt and Pulaski, the Family Partnership Center, the Boys and Girls Club, churches, housing complexes, and summer camps.

“Continued to provide feeding services while school is out ensures that children receive nutritious foods year-round,” said Project Manager Shayna Russo.  “This helps them establish healthy eating habits that we hope continue into adulthood.”
