TOWN OF THOMPSON – A 13-year-old boy needed four staples to close a laceration to his head that he sustained while tubing on Sackett Lake in the Town of Thompson.
The boy was on a tube that was being pulled by a boat. The towing boat operator swerved to avoid colliding with another boat, but it was too late to prevent the teen from slamming into the side of the other boat.
The was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He is expected to make a full recovery
No charges were filed in the incident.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Mobile Medic and the Monticello Fire Department.
