Alice Lezan, 15, of Franklin Township, New Jersey, was found dead on November 15, 1970, bound with rope and inside a red sleeping bag at the bottom of a 60-foot drop near Camp Smith off Bear Mountain Road in Cortlandt.

In March of that year, her body was discovered by a boy walking in the woods, but his parents didn’t believe his story. The boy returned with friends on November 15 of that year and then his parents contacted troopers.

Lezan’s death was ruled a homicide and she was identified through dental records.
