Pair robs Rockland cabbie and gunpoint

NANUET – Clarkstown Police are looking for two men who held up a cabbie early Thursday morning, assaulted and robbed him.

The 58-year-old taxi driver picked up the men at 5:20 a.m. in Spring Valley and was asked to drive them to Spring Brook Road in Nanuet.

The suspects paid the fare and when the driver gave them change, one pulled a gun and demanded his phone, tablet and car keys and as he turned over his property, he was punched in the face causing minor injury.

The suspects fled toward Rose Avenue in Spring Valley.

They are described as black men, 20 years of age, thin with one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the other, a black sweatshirt.

Patrol units searched the area with negative results.
