Hundreds of chickens killed in Callicoon barn fire

CALLICOON – A barn fire that broke out on Tuesday and rekindled twice on Wednesday at 69 Sander Road in Callicoon claimed 400 chickens.

Sullivan County Fire Coordinator John Hauschild said several bales of hay were also lost in the fire that burned the barn to the ground.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the county cause and origin team.
