NEW CITY – Clarkstown Police have released the name of the woman killed in the early Sunday morning fatal crash involving two vehicles.
The victim was Jayde Marks, 21, of New City. She was driving a car that was struck by another vehicle driven by Michael Mercado, 22, of West Haverstraw, who police said was driving drunk and ran a red light at Route 304 and Germonds Road in New City at 1 a.m.
Mercado was charged with vehicular manslaughter, DWI and refusing to submit to a breath test.
