POUGHKEEPSIE – A new superintendent for the Poughkeepsie City School District should be named within the next two weeks, School Board President Felicia Watson said.

The successful candidate will be chosen from a pool of over two dozen who were interviewed, said Watson.

“We have conducted two rounds of bringing in candidates and now we are at the very last phase so we anticipate sealing this deal over the next two weeks,” she said.

Interim superintendent Kathleen Farrell resigned some time ago. She had been named to temporarily replace Nicole Williams, the last permanent superintendent, who resigned a year ago.
