Crash shuts down I-84 east, sends one to the hospital

MAYBROOK – A crash on Interstate 84, involving a tractor trailer and a car about a mile and a half before exit 5 injured one and caused a massive traffic backup on the getaway day for the July 4th holiday.

Both eastbound lanes were closed for a couple of hours, causing a reported four-mile backup.

The driver of the car was extracted and taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
