MIDDLETOWN – Communities all across the Hudson Valley/Catskills, and around the country are celebrate the birth of our nation this week with fireworks displays and community events.

In Middletown Saturday evening, there was a large attendance as the annual fireworks display lit up the skies to the “oohs” and “ahhs” of kids of all ages.

Check your own community website or Facebook page to learn when your fireworks will be held.

Also, while certain types of fireworks are legal to purchase and personally use in New York during specific holiday periods like July 4, cities including Middletown, have the authority to opt out of the program. In that city, it remains illegal to own, purchase or set off fireworks.
