LIBERTY – Sullivan County Public Health Services is offering free weekly vaccination clinics for MMR – the vaccine that provides protection for measles, mumps and rubella – throughout the summer to the public, both for children and adults who are unsure of their immunity status or have had only one MMR.
Pre-registration is required to attend an upcoming clinic at www.health.ny.gov/gotoclinic/53. (Please register ONLY for a clinic marked as “SCPHS MMR Clinic.”). The clinics will run every Wednesday, starting on July 3, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Public Health’s Gladys Olmsted Building, 50 Community Lane in Liberty.
The clinics are separate from regular monthly immunization clinics for other childhood vaccines, which are held the second Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Routine childhood vaccines will not be offered at the weekly MMR clinics.
The county office said people should talk to their healthcare provider before registering for a clinic if they have personal health concerns that might preclude you from receiving the MMR vaccine.
