LIBERTY – Village Police in Liberty have arrested 10 people following a two-month investigation into sex offender compliance where officers checked on their residences.

The state requires that registered sex offenders notify authorities when they change physical address or internet accounts.

The investigations culminated when officers along with state and Sullivan county Probation officials visited every sex offender in the village.

In total, 39 registered sex offenders were investigated resulting in 10 being arrested.

Charged with violation of parole conditions were Richard Motz, Maurice Reed, Lee Zimmerman, Stayce Lucca, Jacob Bodah, Robert Dunn, and Santos Morales. Shawn Webb was charged with felony failure to report change of address by Town of Fallsburg Police during the joint investigation.

David Rollins was charged with felony failure to report internet accounts.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for violation of probation conditions. His name was withheld because of potential youthful offender status.

“This operation and operations like this are essential in protecting the residents of the Village of Liberty,” said Chief Scott Kinne. ”We will continue to actively enforce these laws with additional sweeps and ongoing monitoring of offenders required to register.”
