YORKTOWN – Late Tuesday night on or near Columbine Court, a Yorktown resident had arranged on a social media marketplace site to potentially sell his all terrain vehicle. When the purported buyers arrived, they allegedly displayed what appeared to be a firearm, and forcibly stole the ATV. One suspect drove away in a vehicle, the other on the ATV.
The victim was uninjured and called Yorktown Police minutes after the incident.
One suspect was apprehended by the Westchester County Police Department and the Mount Pleasant Police Department in the Town of Mount Pleasant. The ATV was recovered.
The Yorktown Police investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the second suspect.
The suspects are not believed to be from the immediate area, police said.
