Dragnet continues for Wappinger bank robber

WAPPINGER – Police are looking for a man who walked into the Trustco Bank branch at 1490 Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger just before noon on Tuesday, threatened the use of a bomb and made off with what police said was an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police radio transmissions put the  theft at between $20,000 and $30,000.

Police said a white man dressed in black, with a black umbrella and a ski mask entered the bank, threatened the use of an explosive to gain entrance to the vault and fled the bank.

Anyone with information about the heist is asked to call State Police a 845-677-7300.
