NEW CITY – A Port Chester man pled guilty to all of the allegations in an indictment lodged against him by a Rockland County grand jury charging him with felony course of sexual conduct against a child.

Joseph Lewin, 67, a longtime gymnastics coach who owned and operated “Joe’s Gym” in Hillburn, admitted to engaging in sexual contact with the young victims between 2007 and 2014.

When sentenced in September by Judge David Zuckerman, Lewin faces four years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

“As a youth coach, this defendant held a position of power over his students,” said Acting District Attorney Kevin Gilleece. He abased their trust and took advantage of his vulnerable students. He has pled guilty, waiving his right to appeal and will now be held accountable for the terrible crimes he committed. Such predatory conduct cannot go unpunished. He will go to state prison where he belongs.”
