TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Tru by Hilton hotel on Dunning Road in the Town of Wallkill is just about ready to open and the developer has plans to build another hotel across the road on the former site of the former Rusty Nail restaurant.

Dunning Hospitality with an address in Elmsford is putting the finishing touches on the Tru by Hilton, a 104-room hotel that a principal of the business said Monday is expected to open in early July. The man, who chose not to give his name in a telephone interview with Mid-Hudson News, said the hotel will offer a free buffet breakfast and have a work zone and a play zone for children.

The second project Dunning Hospitality is planning to construct, a TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel, will include 125 rooms and be an extended stay hotel for businesspeople and vacationers. The suites will include a kitchenette the principal said.

His group chose to construct two hotels in one location because of the “convenience off the highway,” the area being “a good corporate market” and because of the construction of Legoland in nearby Goshen.

He said his company has built a dozen other hotels in the New York metropolitan area and New Jersey.
