Dutchess County Court

POUGHKEEPSIE – Last week alone two people pled guilty in separate manslaughter cases in Dutchess County Court.

District Attorney William Grady said his office dedicates a lot of time to prosecuting those types of cases.

“Every detail is so important in enabling us to prove the necessary elements to establish criminal negligence or manslaughter,” Grady said. We rely heavily on accident reconstruction experts as well as investigators from not only the sheriff’s office, but the State Police and other agencies to painstakingly develop the details of these cases so that we can have the necessary facts at our disposal for prosecution.”

Sentencings in both of last week’s cases will take place this summer.
