Three arrested for dealing drugs in Kingston school zone

KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston have a message for narcotics traffickers: Want to deal drugs right next to a school? Not on our watch!

Police executed a search warrant in a residence at 58 West O’Reilly Street right next to Kingston High School at 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 13 following an investigation into heroin dealing in a school zone.

The search yielded fentanyl laced heroin, digital scales, drug packaging material and $1,500 cash.

The occupant of the apartment, Antwone Girard, 33, of Kingston, was arrested on a warrant following a previous indictment by an Ulster County grand jury.

He was charged with criminal possession and sale of narcotics and criminal sale in or near school grounds.

Arrested later in the day were Rashard Brodhead, 26, of Kingston and Hannah Blomgren, 23, of Rhinebeck. Both were taken into custody on court warrants following respective previous grand jury indictments.

They were charged with felony possession and sale of a controlled substance.

Brodhead was also charged with felony drug sales in or near school grounds.

All three were remanded to the Ulster County Jail.

The investigation remains open and police expect additional arrested.

Involved in the investigation are the URGENT task force, Ulster County Emergency Response team, and detectives and the Special Investigations Unit of Kingston City Police.
