The weatherman cooperated with pleasant summer conditions when the Putnam County Stephen Driscoll Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police hosted its annual pig toast and clam bake at the Brewster Elks Club.

A crowd estimated at more than 150 was on hand for the fundraising event Saturday that assisted the local FOP lodge named in memory of September 11 hero NYPD Emergency Services Unit member Stephen Driscoll fund scholarships and other charitable causes countywide.

Driscoll, a resident of Lake Carmel, perished along with seven other Putnam residents on that fateful morning at Ground Zero almost 18 years ago.
