HYDE PARK – The fire that gutted a small cabin in Hyde Park Monday morning claimed the life of a 64-year-old man.

The victim was identified by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office as Russell Cronin, Jr.

The cause of the blaze at 1185 Route 9G remains under investigation.

It took firefighters just 20 minutes to quell the flames and when they entered the building, Cronin was found dead inside.
