Three charged with gang assault in Orangeburg incident

ORANGETOWN – Three people were arrested on Monday in connection with a nighttime attack on a 17-year-old near Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail and Greenbush Road in Orangeburg. The attack occurred on Wednesday, June 5 at 10:11 p.m. On Monday, Orangetown Police said the three surrendered.

The victim suffered injuries and was treated at Nyack Montefiore Hospital.

Ziad Cecunjanin, 20, of Tappan, and two 17-year-olds were charged with gang assault. The 17-year-olds are eligible for youthful offender status. The three allegedly assaulted the victim and caused physical injury.

All were charged with felony gang assault and released on bail pending a future court appearance.
