CARMEL – A Carmel man was arrested in the City of Poughkeepsie on felony drug charges following an investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The Narcotics Enforcement Unit had been investigating the case since last September.

An investigator made contact with Andre Houston, 41, and arranged a purchase of cocaine. He was taken into custody on June 5 and charged with one count each of felony criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. He is in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

In another case, Putnam deputies arrested a 44-year-old man from Carmel, whose name they didn’t release, for possessing oxycodone, amphetamine and concentrated cannabis. He was charged on June 6 with misdemeanor drug possession and criminal possession of a weapon. He was released on an appearance ticket returning to Carmel Town Court at a later date.
