Wallkill man killed in Route 300 motorcycle accident

NEWBURGH – Town Police Newburgh released the identity of the man killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a car at 11 p.m. on Friday.

The victim, who was operating a motorcycle, was Thomas Pennington II, 27, of Wallkill. He was pronounced dead at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Police said on Monday the driver of a Dodge Avenger was making a left turn onto Stewart Avenue from Route 300 in front of Pennington’s motorcycle, which was northbound on Route 300,  and struck the passenger side of the Dodge.

The Town of Newburgh Detective Division was assisted by the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.

No charges have been filed.
