WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man is charged with the June 1 stabbing death of another man outside a corner store in that city.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said Savion Kirton, 25, was charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of Jermial Rose, 38.

There were no details about the reason for the stabbing, authorities said.

Kirton and another man were outside the store at South Eighth Avenue and West Fifth Street on Saturday when Rose was stabbed.

Kirton was committed to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
