POUGHKEEPSIE – What started out as an apparent domestic incident ended up with a standoff between police and a man barricaded inside a residence at 204 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie late this morning.
City Police and Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene along with the city police Emergency Services Unit.
The subject’s mother has now been called to the scene in hopes that she can talk her son out of the house peacefully.
The man was believed to have been wanted on a charge of criminal contempt.
