High-speed chase ends with arrest in Hyde Park

HYDE PARK – Police tried to pull over a vehicle in Poughkeepsie about 3:00 this morning.  The vehicle failed to comply, leading police a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of 100 MPH and nearly colliding with a Hyde Park Police.

The pursuit concluded with a spike strip being deployed and the vehicle stopping near the near Golden Apartments at 98 East Market Street in Hyde Park.

An 18-year-old suspect reportedly was taken into custody.  His name has not been released.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s office, New York State Police and Town of Hyde Park Police assisted.
