WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle High School student pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Thursday in the January 2018 stabbing death of a 16-year-old student at the same school.

Z’inah Brown

Z’inah Brown, 18, pled guilty to manslaughter and will be sentenced in August in the killing of Valeree Schwab.

She was harassed and assaulted by several high school students, causing serious injuries. She dropped her house keys and one of the teens picked them up. She followed the group to a Dunkin’ Donuts shop on North Avenue and tried to get the keys back when Brown stabbed her. She died the following day in the hospital.

Two other teens, Dominique Slack and Carl Booker, both pled guilty to felony stalking for being part of the gang that stalked Schwab on that day. Both were previously sentenced to “shock probation” where they were to be incarcerated for six months in Westchester County Jail and serve five years of probation.
