GOSHEN – Two women, who were employees of BAJA Medical Offices in the Village of Goshen, were arrested as major drug traffickers for allegedly selling electronic prescriptions for oxycodone pills to people who were never patients at that doctors’ office.
Over a three-year period, Jodee O’Dell, 38, of the Village of Florida and Vanessa Hinckley, 40, of Pine Bush, were charged with operating as major traffickers and conspiracy for causing 51,375 oxycodone pills to be illegally dispensed having a street value of over $635,852, said District Attorney David Hoovler.
“We focused on a medical facility that had been diverting prescriptions for quite some time and those prescriptions were making them out to people that were not actually given legitimate prescriptions and they were in turn taking the prescription pills that they were getting illegally and reselling them,” Hoovler said.
The investigation was conducted by the Orange County Drug Task Force and the DA’s Office.
Also charged were Frank Schreibeis, 48, of Florida, Katie Shickle, 33, of Wallkill, Robert Lord, 33, of Chester, and Theresa Piser, 53, of Slate Hill. They were charged with conspiracy.
Also arrested for allegedly trafficking cocaine in the Village of Monroe were Jeffery Wanyu-Arenas, 20, of the City of Newburgh, Kevin Fernandez-Paz, 20, of Wallkill, and Virginia Salinas, 20, of the City of Newburgh.
Investigators also arrested eight others with a ninth person on the lam.
Arrested for possession of heroin were Lavelle Stackhouse, 21, of the Town of Newburgh, and Arthur Harris, 39 and Tara Beach, 43, both of the City of Middletown.
Arrested on charges of possessing and selling cocaine were Zileel Jenkins, 18 , Maurice Towles, 31, and Que’ron Lewster, 17, all of the City of Newburgh, and Paul Marin, 26, of Maybrook.
Darnel Wright, 28, remains at large. He is also charged with sale and possession of cocaine.
