WHITE PLAINS – Standard Amusements, the company that had a deal to run the Westchester County-owned Playland amusement park, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The county recently terminated the deal with the company citing breach of contract and Standard Amusements had hinted of possible legal action.

Now, Westchester County Executive George Latimer said the county’s legal team “will continue to address this matter as it will now be dealt with by the bankruptcy court,” but he said, “At this point we are continuing to focus on Playland having a vibrant and successful 2019 season,”
