NEW CITY – The Rockland Association of Management union has ratified a tentative contact with the county. The new pact covers August 2016 to December 31, 2021.

The next step is for County Executive Edwin Day to sign it and the county legislature to approve it.

The union represents some 190 county employees.

Incremental wage increases and lump sum payments will cover 2017 through 2021 with an $800 lump sum for 2017, $1,500 lump sum for 2018, a two percent increase on base salary in 2019 and three percent in 2020 and 2021. The union last received a percentage raise – of two percent – in 2010.

The cost of the contract is just under $1 million and future increases in 2020 and 2021 will be budgeted for those years, county officials said.
